We are very excited to welcome Tim Sawyier, Elliot Mandel and Jesse McQuarters as our newest additions to ChicagoClassicalMusic.org. Through a spirited voter driven contest, these three writers were chosen based on the quality, clarity and competence of writing critical reviews of musical performances. We thank all who took part in this process and are busy working on a new dedicated space strictly for reviews on our main page.

Check back next week for the start of our exciting new layout and exciting new reviews!

RE: Kudos!

I am impressed by your closed-mindedness and lack of decorum on an otherwise positive website. The fact that you can glean racism from a reviewer contest that was anonymous other than name of contestants is astounding. You have single-handedly alienated both minorities and whites in one fell swoop. The contestants were chosen based on quality and content of their sample reviews, not some picture that had a biography stating their Name, Age, Height, Weight, Creed, and Country of Origin. The fact that no African-American, Latino or other race was chosen may just mean that no African-Americans submitted a review or a Latinos review wasn't popular enough and the same could be said of any number of nationalities that aren't represented in the three contestants chosen.
There wasn't a big conspiracy to keep the proud black man out of the contest and certainly nobody can tell that you're hispanic over the internet unless you tell them. Your ignorant comments are unwanted and I'm sure many people of minority descent are cringing at your post.

Kudos!

I am impressed with the sites attempt at including more diversity. Through the contest, three white men who play instruments were chosen. Kudos. That's probably who reads this site anyway.
