What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done — musically or otherwise?

I would say the most adventurous thing I have ever done, musically or otherwise, was marrying David Finckel! What a remarkable journey it has been. His boundless energy, creativity, and passion for music never ceases to amaze me.

What is your concert day routine?

What do you listen to on your iPod?

I dont have an Ipod. jeez I wish i did! I listen to the radio alot. WDCB jazz and WFMT or WNIU for classical.

What does “Chicago music” mean to you?

Highest quality music, most variety of music, roots and history here in our town, without all the 'star' nonsense one deals with in NY or LA.

What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done — musically or otherwise?

The most adventurous?? You dont want to know, and cant print it anyway. But Musically??? Playing the two most difficult guitar concertos in ONE concert!

Have you ever had to learn a piece of music you initially disliked and then come to love it once you had mastered it?

Five Questions – Ann Hobson Pilot, A New ChicagoClassicalMusic.org Feature

Thu, 9/22/2011 - 9:41am — Chicago Classic...
Sep 22, 2011

Former Boston Symphony Orchestra principal harpist, Ann Hobson Pilot, answers five questions. Ms Pilot will be performing with the Chicago Sinfonietta on Saturday, September 24th at 8 pm at Wentz Concert Hall in Naperville and on Monday, September 26th at 7:30 pm at Symphony Center.

1. If I wasn't a harpist, I would be a professional tennis player - if only I had the talent.

2. If I could change one thing about classical music it would be to have more diversity in the audiences.

3. My favorite moment of any day is dinner.

4. A musician or composer you might not know about, but should is William Grant Still.
