For the third time, the Northwestern University School of Music will flood the stage of Millennium Park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion with a concert of monstrous proportions. Three separate ensembles — 60 cellos, 40 saxophones, and a large brass ensemble — will be featured, conducted by distinguished members of the School of Music faculty. Program highlights include the cello ensemble inBarber’s Adagio for Strings, the saxophone ensemble in Bernstein’s Candide Overture and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and the wind ensemble in Strauss’s Alpine Symphony. Don’t miss this vibrant musical extravaganza against the backdrop of Chicago’s most beautiful outdoor stage! Admission is free. |
