Join the critically acclaimed Chicago Philharmonic for an evening of some of the most exquisite compositions ever written for soloists. For centuries, Mozart has fascinated both music aficionados and novices alike. This concert will begin with Mozart’s Quartet in D for Flute, Violin, Viola and Cello, with Flute soloist, Jean Berkenstock. Berkenstock is Principal Flute with both the Chicago Philharmonic and the Lyric Opera.  Mozart’s Quintet in E-Flat for Horn, Violin, two Violas and Cello will follow, with soloist Jonathan Boen, French Horn.  Boen is Principal Horn with the Chicago Philharmonic and the Lyric Opera.   Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet, an intensely passionate piece by French romantic composer Ernest Chausson (1855-1889), will conclude the program. Chausson is considered to be the most distinctive voice in French music of his generation. Featured soloists are violinist David Perry, Concertmaster for the Chicago Philharmonic, and pianist William Koehler.  Tickets for the performance are $70 on the main floor, and $60, $33 and $20 in the balcony. Student tickets are $10 and available in the lobby before the performance. Group discounts are available. Free parking is available in the adjacent parking garage.
