Any Mozart's Requiem performances coming up?

Submitted by Guest on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 2:14pm.

Hello everybody, I'm glad I came across this site because I've been scouring the internet with the hope of finding a Mozart's Requiem performance in the Chicago area.  I've been dying to see a performance however, it seems like there aren't any.

So if anyone out there knows of a half decent Requiem show let me know ASAP.  The sooner the show the better.

Thanks,
VJ

You're in luck!  The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest is presenting the Requiem this weekend:              http://www.symphonyoprf.com/schedule.php

I thought I will share my experience, at the CSO, this wednesday, I went to see M. Uchida, at the CSO, after work masterworks concert, absolutely amazing, it was so good, that I had to go the following night, where the program was even better, with Bachs Brandenburg Concerto nr5 in D major, and Mozart piano concerto nr 20 conducting from the Piano M. Uchida is a genius!! So to all the Mozart lovers, please, go see here, wherever She performs , she is absolutely brilliant, I have all the respect for someone, like her!!

thank you, for reading!!

I second Guests stated opinion. I saw Uchida at the Friday matinee performance in Symphony Center and I was also amazed! Previously I had seen her piano performances, I cannot remember, but I think on video. This time while conducting she was absolutely fabulous! She is the best conductor from the keyboard I have seen yet! She was also amazing on the keyboard and better than any previous time I had seen her.
