Dvorak: Bagatelles, Op. 47
Krommer: Partita in B-flat Major, Op 45, No. 3 for Winds and Bass
Bruckner: String Quintet in F Major, WAB 112
Share the joy of chamber music for strings and woodwinds with your Valentine at CCM's February concerts. All three works are receiving their CCM debuts including Bruckner's Bach- and Schubert-inspired String Quintet whose Adagio movement expresses "an almost unbearable bliss" (All Music Guide). Dvorák's delightful Bagatelles and Krommer's Mozart-like Partita were selected by CCM co-founder, and recently-retired Principal Clarinet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Larry Combs.
Featuring CCM artists Michael Henoch, oboe; Larry Combs, clarinet; Dennis Michel, bassoon; Gail Williams, horn; Barbara Butler, trumpet; Charles Geyer, trumpet; Gail Williams, horn; Joseph Genualdi, violin; Jasmine Lin, violin; Rami Solomonow, viola; Peter Lloyd, double bass.
Guest artists to perform include Yukiko Ogura, viola and Marina Hoover, cello.
