Evanston, IL — The Music Institute of Chicago (MIC) presents “Let’s Make Music,” a fun and interactive children’s program for elementary-age audiences.
The event begins at 9 a.m. with an open house featuring an instrument petting zoo, early childhood demos, and refreshments, followed by a concert at 10 a.m. performed by MIC ensemble-in-residence Axiom Brass Quintet.
“Let’s Make Music” is a multicultural, educational music program that introduces students to the world of classical music. This interactive concert takes children on an exciting journey around the world, using music to explore different cultures. During the concert, Axiom Brass will perform musical selections from Germany, Cuba, the U.S., Belgium, and other countries. The program also will provide entertaining facts about the composers and the music itself, exploring unique characteristics of each brass instrument and important musical concepts.
About Children’s Concerts at MIC
MIC offers engaging one-hour programs geared toward children 4–12 years of age. A special feature of each concert is the instrument petting zoo, which offers children the opportunity to touch and play a variety of instruments and talk to MIC teachers prior to the main stage performance.
