WFMT classical morning host and Oak Parker Carl Grapentine will present a free lecture on the life and music of George Frederic Handel (1685-1759) at the Oak Park Public Library on Sunday January 9, 2010 at 3 pm. The lecture will kick off the 12th annual Oak Park Handel Week Festival, which runs three weekends in February.
Grapentine is the well-beloved voice on the "5:58 Club" morning show on WFMT. His encyclopedic knowledge of classical music is in high demand.  He is well-known for his pre-concert lectures for Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony and even the Oak Park River Forest symphony.www.handelweek.com
