Join us for the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra’s fourth subscription concert of its Golden Jubilee season, “Romantic Revels,” at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 155 Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst. Don’t miss the spectacle of over 100 strings playing together when the full ESO and strings from York High School combine in Verdi’s scintillating Overture to Nabucco. Music lovers are in for a treat when the distinguished virtuoso Ilya Kaler performs Tchaikovsky’s famous Violin Concerto in D major. The ESO will then deliver Dvorak’s Symphony no. 8 in G major. From soulful melodies to riveting fanfares, Dvorak’s symphony will be another 50th Anniversary highlight!
Concertgoers are invited to learn more about the music at a free concert preview with Ted Hatmaker at 1:45 p.m. in the upper level Gathering Room of the church. Concert doors and the box office open at 2:15. Parking is free, and the church is handicapped-accessible.
Tickets cost $31 for adults, $7 for students. Discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more are $25 per ticket. A single concert family ticket for $65 will admit two adults and up to three students. Purchase your tickets by visiting the ESO website www.elmhurstsymphony.org or calling the Symphony box office at (630) 941-0202.
