The Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá is issuing an open call for musicians interested on becoming orchestra members

One (1) Vacancy for Bassoon Group Leader – Degree 05
One (1) Vacancy for Orchestra Musician – Violoncello – Degree 03
One (1) Vacancy for Orchestra Musician – Violoncello – Degree 02
One (1) Vacancy for Orchestra Musician – Violin – Degree 01
Who can participate: Individuals with professional musical-music training and accredited experience.

The Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, public institution attached to the District’s Department of Culture, Recreation and Sports of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, is composed by 96 players and its Conductor-in-residence is maestro Enrique Arturo Diemecke.
It is one of the few orchestras in Latin America that has performed almost all the cycles of composers such as Mahler, Bruckner and Bartok. Thanks to its programming, Bogotá has known the work of composers such as Stravinsky, Debussy, Poulenc, Orff, Pinzón-Urrea, Hindemith, Copland, Turina, Kodály, Brouwer, Lutoslawski, Borda, Ravel, Kachaturian, Gershwin, Kabalevsky, among many others.
Besides its normal programming, didactic concerts and concerts around parks and churches of the city, the Orchestra has released recordings including over fourteen titles. In the year 2008 the Work “La OFB es Colombia”, received a Latin Grammy Award in the category of Best Instrumental Album.
The OFB in its capacity as District’s public institution engages staff musicians through public announcement of selection addressed to individuals with musical training and credited experience. Invitation to Compete No.001 of 2011 is currently in course for the provision of the following posts:
