The Chicago Sinfonietta addresses eternal verities when the dynamic young Harlem Quartet joins the orchestra for the world premiere of West Side Story Concerto for String Quartet and Orchestra, Randall Fleischer's new arrangement of Leonard Bernstein's beloved score. Harlem Quartet also guests on two additional works, including Michael Abel's rhythmic Delights and Dances, premiered by them in 2007 with the Sphinx Chamber Orchestra. Shakespeare's romantic fantasy forms the narrative of Midsummer Night's Dream and completes this evening of l'amour.
