entry level community orchestras for a late blooming adult?

I'm a very mediocre adult amateur violin player. My very modest dream is to get good enough to play in an community orchestra. What would be the easiest community orchestras to get into in the Chicago area?

How about a group like the Lake Shore Symphony?

Try a Google search for Chicago Community Orchestra. This is one of the links that shows up in a search. A directory of community bands and orchestras nationwide.

Hope this helps.
