seeking out the musical community

I need help!! I am a singer (dramatic soprano) currently residing in Indianapolis and am planning on relocating to the Chicago area in mid-october. I have friends and some family in the area but no music colleages. I'm looking to meet a some people in the area so I'm not going in blind and almost totally alone to get "music things" started, not to mention keep from getting lonely for people to share my interests. The people I know in the area are wonderful but not musically inclined at least not in the classical genre and I can't wait to make new friends and to make Chicago home!
