Well, Asimo (the Honda robot) recently “conducted” a piece with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the sky didn’t fall.
Chicago Opera Theater provided a live simul-cast of Don Giovanni on a screen in Millennium Park earlier this month and no one seemed to object. And this summer the Grant Park Music Festival will present a concert of Indian music performed with a screening of a vintage Bollywood movie. What is our classical music world coming to?
It seems to me that these are all great examples of the field seeking new and exciting ways of appealing to audiences, both new and old. I plan on attending the Grant Park concert on July 30th and am also very interested in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s presentation of The Inca Trail, an evening of Peruvian music scheduled for next October.
Yes, my tastes do run in these directions, but I’m wondering if there are a good number of people out there who also enjoy these types of performances. What do you, our faithful readers, think?

Hi Guest,
Thanks for your comment. If you remember, ask your friend to review the concert and we'll post it on this site. I'm excited about the concert too!

Hi Guest,
Really good point about using these elements sincerely. I would also add that they must add to the concert experience and not detract from the music or the ensemble. We have done a fair amount of this at the Chicago Sinfonietta and it always feels like a fine line we walk to make sure we meet the criteria mentioned above. I hope we have succeeded in balancing this properly, but I'm not always sure.

I am absolutely delighted. This conveys the vibrancy and dynamism of symphonic and operatic music to a wider audience.
I go to the opera regularly, and at 50 I'm often one of the few 'young' people at any given performance. That is a shame. Where will support for our music come from in the future? Open venues, such as at the Pritzker Pavilion, provide a sort of stealth introduction to this wonderful world. I can't wait for "A Throw of the Dice."

Simply put, Synergy is "energy that expands through cooperation." A power is generated in cooperative endeavors which far exceeds the capabilities of any individual acting alone. Synergy is a way in which the Universal Mind rewards loving relationships, especially those which are in purposeful service to the greater whole. Synergy is a key to the geometric expansion of consciousness . . . The whole is greater than the sum of its parts . . .
The cosmos actually expands when we are in agreement with the primal Will-to-Good. The ancient Greeks were aware of the law of increase through partnership. They observed that the Life Power responds to what they called agape, "brotherly/sisterly love." The Greek word synergos means "working together." Buckminster Fuller, who coined the word Synergy, defines it as "synthesis plus energy." According to Webster's Dictionary, synergism is "an ancient theological doctrine holding that in regeneration there is cooperation of divine grace and human activity."
The Law of Synergy appears in The Bible in Matthew 18:20,
"For where two or three gathered together in my name There Am I in the midst of them." . . .
CONSCIOUS NETWORKING EMPLOYS THE POWER OF SYNERGY . . .
In the regenerative process, our first and greatest partner is the universe itself. The affirmation, "I am in synergistic relationship with the universe," exponentially amplifies and enhances our effectiveness.
When we align with each other with pure intention for good, "The combined energy creates a power exponent which is the quotient of one third our number . . . God Geometrizes (Example: A group of twelve would create an exponent of four. 12 divided by 3 equals 4. Therefore the exponent would be 12 to the fourth power, or 20,736!)" Quote from Kryon: The End Times, by Lee Carroll.
Just imagine all the ways we can synergize to further our planetary and cosmic awakening! Gatherings of Lightworkers, networking groups, prayer groups, ritual circles, and extended families are rapidly forming all over the world, consciously using the power of Synergy to expand the light of Love, Peace and Freedom . . . Thus ushering in the Aquarian Age . . . The Golden Age . . . The Age of Spiritual Freedom . . .
Indeed, now is a good time to leave our isolated cubicles, join together in community, and empower each other to Synergize in Love, in Wisdom and in Power . . . Through The Power of Synergy, we have an unprecedented opportunity to collectively celebrate and ascend together now in Peace, Health, Love and Freedom . .
