Last weekend I bought a Naxos CD of music by Joan Tower. Selections are:

Tambor
Concerto for Orchestra
The music is colorful and invigorating, the Nashville Symphony plays superbly, and Leonard Slatkin leads in top form. The recorded sound is outstanding.
It's another winner for the Naxos American Classics series. The recording is supported by the Ford Motor Company Fund.
